PGRS Minutes Feb. 16, 2019

Saint Mathias Lutheran Church, Greensburg

Clark Kemmerer started the meeting @ 1:10.

Al Hartman’s address… Please send get well cards to his home address. (217 Silverdale Dr. Baden Pa. 15005). He is in the Lutheran Care Facility in Mars, Pa.

Bruce Watkins gave the report on the upcoming show, “Fort Pitt TCA Train Meet”, Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Syria Shrine, 1877 Shriners Way, Cheswick, Pa. 15024. The club will be doing a smaller layout. Set up will start at 7 AM. Members are asked to bring buildings, people, animals and anything to fill the layout; the same as we did in McKeesport, last year. The doors will open @ 10 AM & close@ 3PM.  All members’ help will be needed. We will be setting up on the stage in the ballroom. This show will give PGRS a chance to be seen by a large group of train enthusiasts. Please contact Alycefaye @ 724-837-5449 or alycefaye.stewart@comcast.net to confirm what you will bring and if you will help set up.

Saturday, March 16 @ 10 AM will be a club work day for the redo of the Brownsville lay out and the addition of a mountain project at the Monongahela River, Rail & Transportation Museum. All members are encouraged to attend.

The uniting of our three Facebook pages is in the hands of Burt & Barb Mangold, Jan Vogt and Don Cinowalt. They will be getting back to the club on their progress at the next regular meeting.

A map with all the locations of our members was created at this meeting. The intent of the map was to be able to divide the areas into four regions with equal numbers of members representing the North, South, East and West. The center for the four points is Whitehall. The club in its early years had a rule that the Christmas Party should be moved each year from N-S-E-W so some members didn’t need to travel long distances every year. This year is the North’s turn because Jan Vogt volunteered to head up the event. Now she will have other members of the “N” group to help her. Next year will be the South’s turn then the East, then West and so on. The groups are as follows:

North
Vogt
Schwarz, Jr.
Watkins
Cinowalt
Demyan
Kemmerer/Angelo

The Clubs handout information and welcome letters were passed among the members in attendance for updating. Donald Stark offered to use his printer to publish a more professional handout. The officers will go over all suggestions and present the new forms and letters to the club for approval.
