Yearly scheduling meeting
Keith talked about the new trolley museum and our upcoming
display on 7-8-9 June with set up on 5 June. John Tina and Keith
will go down and check out the new museum and see what size our
set up will be. Set up time will be in the May newsletter. Make
plans to come down for the set up on 5 June.
Also talked about and agreed on to do a simple layout for the
TCA meet. Date is 6 Apr. with set up 5 Apr. at 3:00 to 5:00 in
the afternoon. This will be at the Washington County Fair
Grounds. All help is welcome please let Keith know if you plan
to show up so he can have your paycheck ready for you.
Some talk about trips but no dates set up. Also talked about
Lenzner Bus Lines trips. Nothing planned with the club but you
can call Lenzner and get their flier with all of this years
trips.
May 18th will be Fayette county train days. and Brownsville
train museum will be open from 10:00 to 3:00. with a informal
club meeting at 10:00 which will leave plenty of time to visit
Fayette County fine train displays. Come down and see the clubs
layout then go visit some of Fayette's fine train display's.
It's all free and locations are within short driving distances.
Well worth time spent.
Bruce and Reggie Watkins meeting will be on 11 Apr. from 12:00
to 3:00. This will be a weekday meeting which will leave ample
parking on the street.
Your train Spring Fair will be15-17 Apr. at York Pa. Free
Maryland West Virginia Model RR Assoc. open house will be on 4
May from 9:00 to 4:00. I have not been their but I am led to
believe it is one of the finest layouts around. That is located
in Cumberland Maryland.
Brownsville Museum 10:00 to 4:00. The national pike and
steam show will be 18-19 May Not sure on the steam show times
but it runs most of the two days.
Les and Melody Dodds will host a meeting later this summer at
their home in Carrolton Ohio. It is close to several interesting
tourist destinations. You might want to make an over night trip.
Candlewoods Suites is close.
Warren Ohio G Scale Meet will be on 1 June 10:00 to 4:00
They have a good layout set up on a table and is very
interesting. Their are a number of venders that day so bring
your credit cards. Kitchen available with Burgers and Dogs.
We may get involved with a Christmas Holiday's layout in
Indiana Pa. That will be in Nov. so more info. to follow.
Millcreek Central RR was mentioned as a day trip this
summer. Go to Millcreek Central Railroad on your computer and
see what they have to offer. It is located in Coshocton Ohio it
is a two hour and 15 minute drive form Pittsburgh. More on that
later.
John will try to get some info. in the TCA news letter about
the Brownsville Museum.
Meeting adjourned at 3:15 Lunch was Pizza, Potato Salad,
Cheese, Cookies, Coffee. Tea, Jello cups and the famous Bill's
Donut's. So if you weren't there you missed it.
