Meeting Minutes
January 17, 2015

Opening

The regular meeting of the Pittsburgh Garden Railway Society was called to order at 1:45 on January 17, 2015 in Greensburg @ Saint Mathias Lutheran Church by Pres. Keith Baggus.

Present

Donald & Debbie Goodwin, Alycefaye Stewart, John & Tina Weimer, Gene & Caryll Linck, Jack Pyle & Sandy Hubert, Dave Bodnar, Miller Adams, Ed Banks, Jan Vogt, Clark Kemmerer & Alice Angelo, Keith Baggus.

No agenda was submitted.

Approval of Minutes

No Minutes were read.

Open Issues

Member’s suggestions were discussed for the good of the club.

National Garden Railroad Convention for 2015 is in Denver Colorado, July 5-11 (John and Tina Weimer are going)

Signups are needed for Sat. Feb 14th Greenburg Show. Contact Alycefaye.

The Greenburg Train Show: Feb.14- 15 @ Expo Mart in Monroeville.  Don Goodwin will bring the trailer. Set up will be a 10’ X 20’ on the floor. Jan Vogt will plan and print a simple layout. Jan was asked to bring her factory. Alycefaye Stewart will be in charge of the set up “Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory”. Three trains will run; 1. Chocolate train, 2. Gumdrop train, 3. Thomas (run as a point to point.) A $50 budget was stated. Set up will be Friday, Feb. 13 from 12:00 until finished. Eight people volunteered to help set up. Show times are Sat. & Sun. times 10 – 4.

 In place of doing modular( that had been discussed): Each member has been asked to voluntarily build a building that they will bring with them to each show, the scale is 1:24  or ½ inch = 1 foot , each floor being 10 feet high or (5 inches high). These buildings will be in the displays. Depending on which member help at a show, the display will change each time.

Pins and Vests: Alycefaye Stewart was asked to look into the cost of clip on and or magnetic name pins. Polar fleece vest were discussed for the members to buy and she will see about their price.

March – Science Center Pittsburgh (details yet to be completed)

April – 25- (details yet to be completed)

May-2&3 Franklin May Mart (yet to be decided)

        16 & 17- @ Beallsviille Masonic Lodge (set up Friday the 15th)

June-27- Clark Kemmerer‘s home

July- Train Ride - Keith is looking into the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic R.R. in Ohio for a day trip and also cost of an overnighter.

August- 15- Club Picnic @ Miller Adam’s home

September –date? - Frank and Jackie Magri’s home

October-date?- Castle Shannon Train Show

November-date?- Greenburg Show ( if we get in)

December- Christmas (Holiday) Party-(details yet to be completed)

Adjournment

Meeting was adjourned at 2:30 by Pres. Keith Baggus. A nice Pizza and salad lunch was served by Tina Weimer and Alycefaye and desserts were supplied by the members. Thanks to all who attended and provided goodies.
