Mountain Construction

Day 1- August 31, 2007

The first step was to build a support system for the chicken wire that would serve as the base of the mountains.  This was constructed from 2x4's and scraps of plywood.

Next the chicken wire was added.  It was covered with a layer of burlap that was soaked in a soupy mix or mortar.

Additional mortar was added as the burlap was smoothed out.

Three of the four mountains were started and left to dry at the end of the day.

Lots of time was set aside for rest breaks!
